Director’s Note: September 2018

Syrian Shipment Loading Crew

On September 12th, we sent a 40-foot container to Syria that will help some of the more than 6.6 million internally displaced Syrian people (IDPs) who have left their homes in the civil conflict—now in its 8th year. Many families have relocated multiple times to escape being killed. Over 5.6 million have fled Syria as refugees since 2011, according to the UNHCR. And an estimated 50% of the people affected are children. Instead of heading to Israel and into southern Syria, this container will first go through Turkey, then be driven into northern Syria. Please pray it reaches its destination safely.

With funds raised at the Tea for Hope, we are tentatively scheduled to send a large shipment to Israel through the Joseph Project, the largest importer of humanitarian aid into Israel. The Joseph Project helps Syrian IDPs and refugees, and the poor in Israel, including elderly holocaust survivors.

I was able to share about our mission and vision on 94.1 The Voice, on Doug Hardy’s morning show. You can listen here.

Sand has been laid in preparation for new sidewalks to be poured.

It is wonderful to see work starting on our new parking lot. The new parking area is desperately needed for the ministry to grow, and I look forward to its completion. Call me at 208-461-1473 if you or your group would like to help raise funds. Or you can send a check marked “Parking Lot” or donate securely online. We will be planning a ribbon-cutting event to celebrate the parking lot’s completion. Hope you can join us!
