Impact in the Dominican Republic

ISU Medical Mission

The Idaho State University Physician Assistant Program sent this report upon their return from serving the people of the Dominican Republic.

"Six students along with nine practicing medical providers (physicians, nurses, and PAs) partnered with a group of dentists and dental students to provide medical and dental care in the Dominican Republic. Three days of clinic were spent in the capital city of Santo Domingo, and two days were spent in a rural costal town called Las Terranas. Over the course of five clinic days, the medical providers/students saw over 1,000 patients!! Patient conditions ranged from high blood pressure to fungal infections, to dehydration and malnutrition, and everything in between. The multitude of supplies you provided and donated to our trip helped more than you could ever imagine!! We were truly able to heal so many who would have otherwise had no access to healthcare! Thank you doesn’t seem to express the gratitude that our team feels toward Hands of Hope Northwest!” - Savanah H. PA-S
