Brunch for Hope Event

What a great time we had at the Hands of Hope NW Brunch for Hope for Kenya. The event raised $26K!

Guests had fun bidding at the silent auction and relaxing in the panoramic banquet room meeting new friends over a delicious and plentiful buffet catered by Boise Centre staff.

Claudia Weathermon-Tester was our MC for the program and introduced guest speaker, Dr. Steven Roser. The St. Luke’s orthopedic surgeon engaged everyone’s attention with a personal account of his mission trips to Kenya and highlights of Expansion International’s plans for the new Magumu Mercy Medical Clinic to open in July.

With the funds raised, Hands of Hope will send a shipment to Kenya in April. All being well, it will arrive in time to equip the clinic and bring access to better health care for Magumu’s 33,000 population, many of whom were resettled from Rift Valley conflicts.

Thank you to the event sponsors, auction item donors, Boise Centre staff, Bliss Events, Claudia Weathermon-Tester, Dr. Steven Roser, and Joel Pearsall for his opening prayer.

And many thanks to Expansion International, and Executive Director, Lauren Phillips, for partnering with us in this exciting adventure to improve life in one corner of Africa.
