Sierra Leone shipment on its way
On Thursday, September 25, volunteers came to load the urgently-needed shipment of protective gear, medical supplies and equipment bound for Magbenteh hospital, Sierra Leone. This 40-foot container is our second and much larger shipment to Dr. Daniel Sesay and his staff who are treating patients afflicted with the Ebola virus. Dr. Sesay has already lost 6 of his staff and 3 of their family members to the deadly disease. The shipment will build up the hospital’s diminished supplies.
The shipment is due to arrive the first days of January. But we still need $1,000 to cover the in-country distribution fees for the truck to deliver from the port to the inland hospital in Makeni. If you can help, please consider a gift to help cover this expense and designate it “Sierra Leone.”
Channel 7 and the Boise Weekly came on site to report the story.View photos of volunteers loading the container on our Facebook page.
