Hope Arrives in Papua New Guinea
Every shipment we send is more than boxes and supplies—it’s a lifeline. In June, a twenty-foot container carefully hand-packed by our volunteers left Nampa, bound for the Nazarene General Hospital in Papua New Guinea. This month, it finally arrived—and the impact was immediate.
The hospital director wrote to us:
“Your container arrived this week. Thank you so much for your work and support on behalf of the people of Papua New Guinea. Your work sustains our hospital and we have patients who daily benefit from what you do.”
That gratitude reflects a powerful truth: for nearly 60 years, Nazarene General Hospital has been a beacon of hope. With 230 healthcare workers, they not only treat patients but also train the next generation of doctors and nurses. Each year, they care for 60,000 patients, deliver 3,000 babies, and perform over 1,000 major surgeries—all while operating seven facilities across the country.
This latest container, valued at nearly $400,000, is already making a difference. Many items—considered expired in the U.S.—remain safe and life-saving in Papua New Guinea. Instead of being discarded, they are now giving people the chance to heal, recover, and thrive.
At Hands of Hope Northwest, we are honored to stand alongside hospitals like this one. With the faithful support of our volunteers and donors, we’re helping ensure that hope, healing, and health continue to reach those who need it most.
Together, we are equipping others to thrive—here in Papua New Guinea, and beyond.
