Chad Shipment Arrives
As you may recall last year we had one of our shipments get “stuck” in an Israeli port. With the help of Micah Smith and Global Gateway Network (GGN), we were able to redirect it to the African nation of Chad. The following is an excerpt from Micah’s report:
“About this time, we were praying about where to send the next container of medical supplies. One of GGN’s Israeli collaborators sent us an appeal by Prime Minister Netanyahu to help the people of Chad. Through a series of miraculous steps and connections, the container made its way from Ashdod, Israel, to the Cameroons in Africa, where it was then trucked to the Lake Chad area, more than 700 miles away through the difficult country.
Chad is a long way from Nampa, Idaho, where our partner, Hands of Hope NW, packed the 40′ container with needed medical supplies. The complications, chaos, and challenges for the supplies to arrive safely are too many to list. But arrive safely it did! And our Israeli team did an amazing job of caring for the people.
Chad is among the poorest of nations. The 15 million people have a Muslim majority, with a life expectancy of 50 years. Famine, disease, including HIV/AIDS, and many years of civil unrest and war, has taken its toll on the vulnerable, resulting in an estimated 500,000 orphaned children.
Orphans and widows suffer the most in a bleak existence where healthcare is nearly non-existent, water is contaminated in open wells, and food and clothing are scarce.”
God had another destination in mind for this shipment and we are grateful to do His will.
“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.” James 1:27
