Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Drive
NOTE: This drive is considered "essential" business under Governor Brad Little's new stay-at-home order. It will go forward as planned.
Hands of Hope NW is hosting a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) drive on Saturday, March 28th, noon to 4 p.m., at Albertson’s Stadium on BSU’s campus (East lot).
This appeal is on behalf of Senator Maryanne Jordan, Senator Cherie Buckner-Webb, House of Representatives hopeful Chris Mathias, and Todd Durbin, Executive Director of Hands of Hope NW. People are encouraged to donate unopened, unused PPE, such as masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, bleach products, and more in order to help health care workers in Idaho protect themselves - and their patients - in the fight against COVID-19.
All supplies received at Saturday’s drive (and thereafter at Hands of Hope NW) will be distributed among health care providers in Idaho who are on the front lines of the fight against the spread of COVID-19. Tax donation receipts will be provided to any individual or business owner who is able to bring an itemized list of donated items.
United Way has set up a central system to process PPE requests from medical providers on behalf of Central and Southwest District Health and Western Idaho Healthcare Coalition and Ada County. Hands of Hope Northwest will be using this system to distribute PPE items according to requests.
Request PPE Supplies (Medical Providers Only)
To keep everyone safe at the event, no gathering will be allowed and volunteers receiving donations will be wearing masks and gloves. We ask that people simply drive through to donate the following supplies:
- Sterile and non-sterile gloves
- Unopened hand sanitizer
- Unopened commercial bleach bottles, sprays, or wipes
- Unopened Isopropyl alcohol
- Eye protection and goggles
- Clear face shields
- Masks – tie, ear loop (no cloth masks)
- Respirator masks – N95, N99, P100 of all sizes. Extra filters also needed.
- PAPR respirators – 3M or MaxAir and unused. Hoods, filters, batteries, chargers, tubes to go with these units are also needed.
- Disposable gowns (unused)
- Shoe covers
- Biohazard bags (unused)
Please help us get the word out to protect our healthcare workers and our community!
If you wish to give financially, please donate to the Hands of Hope NW "Idaho PPE Drive" fund.
LDS temples may stock shoe covers. I have a pair left from the tour of the Meridian temple before its consecration.
Hi Gary,
Thanks for the tip-off. There’s been a lot of publicity about this PPE drive, so hopefully the LDS temples heard about it and will respond.
