Idaho Gives Day Report
Idaho Gives Day is a statewide, 24-hour online fundraiser that was held on Thursday, May 4th, 2017. You can still help us reach our $15,000 goal. So far, we have raised $5,963. It’s not too late to give today to help the vulnerable – elderly, disabled, and orphans. We are also receiving school supplies for orphans placed in foster homes.
We are raising $15,000 for a shipment to Transnistria, Moldova, a poor country in Eastern Europe with a growing number of orphans. We have sent multiple medical shipments to Moldova full of items like this wheelchair for the young man.
As well as sending medical equipment and supplies for local hospitals, we are partnering with Help the Children, a Christian organization that removes children from government orphanages and places them with Christian foster families in a safe and loving environment, and also helps orphans transition to adulthood. We plan to include clothing, school supplies, and Crisis Care Kits for the orphans. For more info on Help the Children, watch this video.
Lots of people came to our Ministry Center on May 4th for a BBQ, to bring their donations, and to hear special guest speakers, Dr. Andy and Judy Bennett.
The Bennetts are missionaries who work in a small Nazarene hospital in Papua New Guinea (PNG), the first country to receive an HoHNW shipment in 1992. Watch a video of the Bennetts’ mission work.
