July Director’s Note
I am so thankful that I live in the United States of America! I lived in Thailand for one year and the Philippines for two years. There are so many things that are easily accomplished here, that take hours to accomplish in other
countries. For example, the only way to pay your phone bill in Thailand was to stand in long lines every month. Some foreigners paid other people to stand in line for them!
Health care is another area that Americans sometimes take for granted. Although we complain about the high prices we pay, we are probably getting better care than we would in most places in the world. What we replace or throw away in the USA is treasure in other countries. We are thankful to all the area hospitals, medical supply stores, and nursing homes that have joined with us in making these items available to those in need. Like us, they hate to see things get thrown away that are vital to healthcare.
