January 2014 Highlights: New Director

Debbie Wheeler, Executive Director
Debbie Wheeler, Director

This promising New Year brings exciting changes to the Hands of Hope ministry. The Board is pleased to announce a new Executive Director. Debbie Wheeler has been employed at Hands of Hope for seven years and is now stepping into the Director’s role, as of January 1st, 2014.

A former missionary to the Philippines and Thailand, Debbie is familiar with overseas missions and intimately aware of the Hands of Hope mission and operations. She is also a former school teacher. Debbie says she is “looking forward to moving the ministry forward” and is excited about the other new staff members who are joining her. With the help of the staff and wonderful volunteers who make this ministry possible, Hands of Hope will be able to focus on our goal of building a new warehouse in order to expand the ministry. Hands of Hope would like to thank David Ferdinand for serving as the Interim Director during 2013. Together we can help care for the sick around the world in the name of Jesus. Debbie’s favorite verse is Matthew 25:40: “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'”
